Upperville Colt & Horse Show - Environmental Accomplishments

RECYCLING: New well-marked recycling bins.

GREEN MARKETING: Show officials highlight “green” initiatives to spectators and competitors.

WOODLOTS: Healthy trees shade the show grounds.

GRASSLANDS: Lush, green grass in the show ring.

DIGITAL PRIZE LIST: All entries are online.

CONSERVATION EASEMENT: The show grounds continue to be cited as an example of successful registered environmental conservation.

EROSION CONTROL: Low stone walls and grass buffers keep runoff to a minimum.

OPEN SPACE: The show grounds and surrounding fields create a bucolic setting and wildlife habitat.

LOCAL SOURCING AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH: Evergro Farm Store provides show supplies including decorative plants.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH: Arbor Day Invitation and Tree Canopy local support link environmental initiatives to the community.

COMPOSTING: Manure and bedding collected and composted on a local farm for plant food.

OWL HABITAT: The owls are loving this old oak tree.
